Soulfree founder, Preethi Srinivasan was honoured at a special function organised by the Samudhaaya foundation on July 3, 2018. A grand ceremony was held to celebrate the 90th birthday of a Doyen of Carnatic music, M. L. Vasanthakumari at the Music Academy in Chennai. Ms. Sudha Raghunathan, one of MLV’s most renowned students organised the event through the charitable foundation she heads, Samudhaaya.

Along with concerts from some of the greatest students of MLV, the extraordinary event was presided by Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Honourable Minister for defence, and Mr Manoj Sinha, the Honourable Minister for Communications and Railways, amongst other prominent leaders of India.

In order to highlight MLV Amma’s incredible generosity of spirit, an extraordinary sum was donated to Soulfree during the event, to be used for purchase of land and construction of a rehabilitation centre to support those with spinal-cord injury in India.

Soulfree is humbled and overwhelmed with gratitude to the Samudhaaya foundation and Dr. Kris Yogam, whose incredible kindness and philanthropy make many things possible. We are committed to working to the best of our ability, towards the fulfilment of our dream, that has has been given fresh wings.
