About 2.21% of India’s population is said to have a significant disability. There are crores of people in our nation facing some form of disability, who need some form of infrastructural, medical and social support to ensure that they would not be denied their basic rights to education, employment and independence.

Sensitisation of the corporate world towards the benefits of providing accessibility and inclusion in the workforce, through employment of persons with different abilities, is important. Spreading awareness about the needs and challenges faced by the positively-abled, and highlighting the tremendous achievements of those who have broken all barriers, is vital towards changing prevailing social perspectives about disability.

In an effort to do this, The Headway Foundation conducted “The Inclusive India Conclave (IICON) 2018” in Chennai on the 28th of July 2018. Soulfree founder, Preethi Srinivasan was recognised as an achiever and invited as an expert panellist for a panel discussion during the conclave.
