Introduction
Over the last decade, Soulfree’s outreach programs have created a powerful positive impact in the quality of life of Persons with Spinal Cord Injury (PwSCI). Further, Soulfree’s programs have proved to be a boon to those struggling to create a life of dignity for themselves.
Since inception in 2013, Soulfree has positively impacted its beneficiaries and their families through its various outreach initiatives listed below:
- Soulfree’s Giftbox drive with essentials and medical items delivers Smiles to its beneficiaries.
- Soulfree’s Monthly Stipend Program has transformed the quality-of-life.
- Soulfree Wheelchair and Cushion Drive has provided mobility and helped avoid bedsore / pressure sores.
- Soulfree Hospital Bed, Mattress and Airbed Drive has helped beneficiaries have a good night’s sleep with dignity and safety.
- Soulfree Tailoring Machines donation have made the beneficiaries self-reliant.
2023 - 2024 Highlights
- 23rd August, 2023 marks the completion of 10 Years of Soulfree’s services
- Our investment towards our outreach program was ~ ₹ 1.37 crores.
- The holistic rehabilitation investment (cost) was ~ ₹ 1.40 crores.
- Total number of services ~ 70,000+
- Total number of admissions 118 (including Residents at the beginning of the year)
- Total discharges after successful rehabilitation 77. Total number of residents 41 (as of 31 March 24).
- For a two-week period in August – September 2023, to celebrate the 10 years milestone, programs were held at the center - with special guests, many live performances, sports, free medical treatment camps etc.
- On the 5th of September, observed as World Spinal Cord Injury Day, a massive awareness rally was organized with more than 100 wheelchair users and supporters rallying to spread awareness.
