Spinal-cord injuries occur most often amongst the youth, and one of Soulfree’s priorities has been to keep raising awareness in order to prevent future injuries.

In this particular session, along with information about what spinal-cord injury is and the safety precautions that need to be taken in order to prevent it, the youngsters were also given information about the Ekta campaign. ‘Ekta’ is a nation-wide disability welfare and wheelchair accessibility campaign that is being jointly conducted by Soulfree and the NSUI.

The students were very receptive to the information and promised their full support in the fight to achieve full wheelchair accessibility in all educational institutions, government offices, recreational centres and modes of transport.

We hope to keep inspiring more and more of India’s future leaders towards understanding the need for a more inclusive country, and begin working towards making it a reality.
