Soulfree celebrated Deepavali at the Leprosy centre near Thiruvannamalai. The 46 inmates at the Centre for provided umbrellas and other goodies, with the support of Mrs Joncy, a dedicated officer who works for Department of the differently-abled. Vijayalakshmi Srinivasan, my mother and the Chief trustee of Soulfree was present to hand over the gifts to the wonderful ladies and men at the centre, many of whom really struggle without their fingers, that have been eaten up by the leprosy. Quite a few of them are completely unable to walk and move around as well. Soulfree is committed to serving the citizens, whom our society completely ignores and treats with apathy and indifference, as if they were completely invisible. We are happy and proud to have had the chance to spread Love, light and laughter this Deepavali!
